The Steam Miniprofiles have had some recent changes.
2 new sizes have been added Compact* and Micro
Compact is designed for horizontally challenged areas and has had the recently played portion removed. The size and layout of this item may be changed in the future.
Micro is a 16x16 icon that displays only your status as represented by the STEAM system tray icon.

The image directory has also been modified. If you have problems with your miniprofile you should wither remove 'img/' from the html or regenerate the code.

The STEAM Miniprofiles are working again.
Head on over there and generate your own signature image using any of the official steam skins.
